Establishment of Uttarakhand Minority Commission

Under Article 200 of the Constitution of India, the Uttarakhand Minority Commission Bill 2002 passed by the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly was approved on 16.06.2002.

The Uttarakhand Government constituted the Uttarakhand Minority Commission on 27 May 2003.

After its formation, the Commission started its work on 29.09.2003.

Details of posts held in the Uttarakhand Minority Commission

The posts of one Chairman, two Vice-Chairmen and nine members have been created in the Commission. At present, one Chairman, two Vice-Chairmen and nine members are working. The tenure of all the dignitaries appointed in the Commission is for five years from the date of assuming charge.

The Government has sanctioned a total of 11 posts in the Commission for one post each of Secretary Category-II Accountant, Personal Assistant, Senior Assistant, Junior Clerk, two Drivers and four Class IV Drivers.
